STORY: GDP rose 1.6% in the first quarter of 2024 down from 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Lynch said, "A better way to look at GDP is to look at what I would call core GDP, which is to strip out inventory, strip out net exports which we're really powerful on the export side this quarter and that really detracted. So if you actually look at what it would be kind of core GDP, which would be final sales to purchasers in the US, it actually grew at 2.8(%)."
