Video shows Tehran university protesters fleeing police

STORY: Protests ignited by the death of Mahsa Amini in custody after her arrest by morality police over "inappropriate attire" have not abated despite a growing death toll and an increasingly violent crackdown by security forces using tear gas, clubs and - in some cases, according to videos on social media and rights groups - live ammunition.

Iran's police authorities say Amini died of a heart attack and deny she was beaten to death in custody.

Video obtained by Reuters showed scores of people running in the street near Sharif University, while audio of loud bangs were heard. Another video showed students gathered at the university gate.

Reuters was able to confirm the location from the design of the buildings seen in the two videos which matched satellite and street view photography of the area. Reuters was not able to confirm the date the videos were filmed.
