Grocery Store Looted in Lyon Amid Violent Pension-Reform Protest

At least 33 people were arrested as pension-reform protests on International Workers’ Day, May 1, turned violent in Lyon, France, local authorities said.

Footage recorded by @Bismuthback shows a looted grocery store and a fire burning outside a bank in the city.

Projectiles can be seen raining down in the city’s streets as police attempt to control the crowds.

The local government said on Monday afternoon that 33 people were arrested in Place Bellecour. Earlier, authorities said two people were arrested for causing damage on Avenue Jean Jaures.
