The morning sun brought color and warmth to a frosty Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, November 15, as “quick-hitting” snowstorms were forecasted for parts of south-central Pennsylvania later that day.

“Red sky in the morning, sailors – AKA Pennsylvanians – take warning,” the NWS staff in State College, Pennsylvania, wrote as they issued their first winter weather advisory of the season, warning that one to three inches (25mm to 76mm) of snow would fall across Adams, Franklin, Perry and Cumberland counties.
