Venezuelan Army Deployed in Town After Deadly Landslide

The Venezuela Armed Forces were deployed to the northern town of Las Tejerias, footage released on Monday, October 10, shows, after at least 36 people were killed there in a landslide caused by heavy rain.

By Monday afternoon, 56 people remained missing, the local government said. Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said 1,300 families were affected and that 757 homes suffered severe damage.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro visited Las Tejerias on Monday.
