Firefighters at Atlanta airport were on hand to help as a mother’s new arrival coincided with a plane’s arrival from Mexico earlier this month.

In footage posted to Facebook by the Atlanta Fire Department, new mother Liliana Castaneda is seen reuniting with the emergency responders who aided her as she gave birth just after her flight landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on November 14.

Castaneda’s waters broke about an hour into the flight from Mexico as she and her husband, Edgar Acevedo, were heading home to Raleigh, North Carolina, according to the fire department.

For three and a half hours, a nurse on board provided care until the plane landed.

“Once aboard the aircraft, responders found Liliana lying on the floor in the very rear of the plane. After an inspection, personnel decided to deliver the baby on Delta Flight 1804. After one push, Liliana gave birth to her first child, Analia,” the fire department said in a statement.

“He was like ‘Yeah the baby girl is coming, it’s on its way.’ And he was like ’Don’t try to push, because if you push more the baby will come out’,” Castaneda said in video from the airport on November 24. “I held those contractions for like three hours and 30 minutes on the way here.”
