Buildings in downtown Akron, Ohio, boarded up their windows amid ongoing protests after the fatal police shooting of Jayland Walker on June 27.

Akron mayor Daniel Horrigan imposed a curfew on Monday, July 4, and canceled an Independence Day fireworks display scheduled for the evening after protests turned violent on Sunday, July 3. In a press release, Horrigan said there was “significant property damage done to downtown Akron.”
