First responders in Menifee, California, lined up on a highway overpass on September 15 to salute US Marines coming home from Afghanistan.

Footage released by the City of Menifee shows first responders, including police officers and firefighters, honoring members of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, based out of Camp Pendleton, about 35 miles from Menifee.

Nine marines and a navy sailor attached to the unit were among 13 US service members killed in a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport on August 26, the Los Angeles Times reported. Credit: City of Menifee-City Hall via Storyful
