Cleanup Efforts Begin in Kharkiv After Deadly Shelling

Locals began cleanup efforts in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on May 27, after shelling in the city the day before left eight people dead.

This footage by Ukraine’s public broadcaster, Suspilne, shows Kharkiv residents and cleanup crews removing debris from damaged areas of the city.

According to Suspilne, Kharkiv was hit by enemy shelling on May 26, causing at least eight fatalities and 19 injuries.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said a total of 23 fires were caused also by shelling in the city’s Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, and Pavlovo Pole districts on Thursday. Credit: Suspilne News via Storyful
