Freeways were shut down in Detroit due to flooding after heavy rain hit Michigan on Friday, July 16, the state Department of Transportation (MDOT) said.

Footage shared by Brendan Gutenschwager shows flooding on the John C Lodge Freeway (M-10) in downtown Detroit. The freeway was shut down in both directions, MDOT said.

Other footage shows flash flooding on a Detroit side street.
