Giant Waterspout Adds Drama to Fishing Trip Off New South Wales

A large waterspout seen off Stanwell Tops, New South Wales, impressed Chris Beck and the rest of his tuna fishing party, whose boat happened to be nearby when the impressive column formed on July 13.

Speaking to The Illawarra Mercury, Beck said there was a storm between the land and the waterspout, so it was “only visible by sea.”
