The Muldrow Glacier in Alaska’s Denali National Park and Preserve underwent a surge from May 1 to 8, forming a river of ice.

Timelapse footage shared by Denali National Park shows ice movement.

“The Muldrow Glacier is currently undergoing a historic surge event, and a team of scientists have set up time lapse cameras near the toe of the glacier, and the first footage has emerged!” wrote the park on Facebook. “Enjoy this remarkable video of this amazing ‘river of ice’ currently moving at rate of around 30 meters (90 feet) per day.” Credit: Denali National Park and Preserve via Storyful
