High-Rise Fire Under Control After Sending Dense Smoke Over Philadelphia

A fire at the top of a high-rise building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was quickly brought under control on Sunday, January 23, after sending dense, dark clouds of smoke billowing out over the city.

The Philadelphia Fire Department said the fire at the 41-story One Commerce Square in Center City was contained to its cooling tower, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

According to the Inquirer, fire officials said crews responded at 11.15 am and had extinguished the flames by 11.37 am, before they spread inside the building.
