Hundreds Join Black Lives Matter Protest Marching to Staten Island Police Precinct

As many as 500 protesters participated in a peaceful march to the New York Police Department’s 122nd Precinct in Staten Island on Friday, June 5, with as many as 300 of those joining in as the demonstration passed, local media reported.

The Staten Island Advance reported that a crowd of about 200 began the march, but “it easily doubled in size along the way, with as many as 500 taking part. Participants could be heard inviting residents to join them along the way.”

This video shows the steady stream of demonstrators turning onto Hylan Boulevard on Friday afternoon. The Staten Island Advance reported that protesters remained peaceful and participated in chants, including the names of recent victims of police violence like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
