A county school corporation in Dubois, Indiana, has thanked “volunteers, staff members, and […] our great community” for their cleanup efforts after severe flash flooding hit a local school on August 30.

This video, posted on Facebook on September 21 by the Northeast Dubois County School Corporation, shows the dramatic flooding at the Northeast Dubois Intermediate School.

The footage shows water gushing through the school’s hallways, basement and kitchen.

The water also flooded the school’s archery range and community rooms, principal Ryan Case told the Dubois County Free Press.

On September 7 the school corporation said the school’s gym would be closed until further notice due to extensive damage.

The severity of the flooding meant students attended classes virtually on August 31, and the school was closed for the rest of that week, local news reported. Credit: Northeast Dubois County School Corporation via Storyful
