Lightning Illuminates Sky in Eastern Oklahoma

Lighting flashed across the sky in eastern Oklahoma in the early hours of Thursday, September 21, as weather officials warned of scattered storms in the area.

This footage of intense lightning and booming thunder in the town of Checotah was filmed by Dennie Brison.

Storms moving across the southeastern part of Oklahoma brought “small hail, gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall,” weather officials said on Thursday.
