Magnitude 7.5 Earthquake Hits Peru, Impacting Ecuador

A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck northern Peru on November 28, impacting neighboring Ecuador.

According to Peru’s National Seismological Center, the quake struck 98 kilometers east of the town of Santa María de Nieva in the Condorcanqui Province of the Amazonas Region.

The earthquake was also felt in neighboring Ecuador. Images released by the country’s National Risk and Emergency Management Service show a damaged high school and damaged homes.
