Authorities have raised the alert level in the Philippines as the Mayon Volcano spews steam and ash, indicating a possible hazardous eruption. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has warned of the possible threat of fast-moving volcanic ash, rock, and gas, that would lead to evacuations in the surrounding areas.
