Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny demanded media outlets be allowed into a hearing being held in a police station in Moscow on January 18, which he had earlier decried as “illegal”.

“I advocate that the process be as open as possible so that all the media have the opportunity to observe this amazing absurdity that is happening here,” Navalny said, according to an automated translation of his remarks from Google. Credit: Alexei Navalny via Storyful
