Post-tropical cyclone Fiona brought wind gusts of nearly 110 mph, heavy rainfall and storm surges to parts of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, on September 24, according to the Canadian Weather Service.

Port aux Basques saw its water level rise 2.73 meters (around nine feet), exceeding a previous recorded of 2.71 meters from 2017, the Canadian Weather Service said.

Footage filmed by Wanda Bobbett shows a property on the coast of Port aux Basques being washed away into the sea following a surge of water hitting the coastline.

Speaking to Storyful, Bobbett said that she was the owner of the property, which she was renting out, and was watching on with her father as the property was destroyed in a “surge.”
