An NOAA plane traveled through the eye of Hurricane Ian in the Caribbean on Tuesday, September 27, as the hurricane was over Cuba.

Cuba lost power in an island-wide blackout on Tuesday after the storm hit. The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Ian battered the island’s west with high winds and a life-threatening storm surge.
