Officials in Mexico Find 45 Bags Containing Human Remains in Search for Eight Missing Call Center Workers

Authorities in Mexico have met with the families of eight missing call center workers after 45 bags containing human remains were found in Zapopan during search work started on Wednesday, May 31, the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office said.

The remains “matched with the physical characteristics” of some of the missing persons, the prosecutor’s office said late on Thursday.

The Civil Protection and Firefighters of Zapopan assisted in the search, which started on Wednesday, the prosecutor’s office said.

Officials named the eight missing people as Itzel Abigail, Carlos David, Carlos Benjamín, Arturo, Jesus Alfredo, Mayra Karina, Jorge Miguel, and Juan Antonio.

Antonio, the last to be reported missing, was last seen on May 22.

The missing all worked in the same call center in Zapopan, the prosecutor’s office said.
