Pension-Reform Protesters Use Umbrellas to Deflect Police Water Cannon in Rennes

French police were seen using a water cannon to spray pension-reform protesters in Rennes, France, video recorded on March 28 shows.

Footage recorded by Ewen Bazin captures the protesters huddled together under umbrellas as police hose them down.

Local news reported between 13,600 and 25,000 people participated in the Rennes demonstration on Tuesday, adding that 14 officers were injured and 6 people were arrested.

Protesters caused chaos throughout France on Monday and Tuesday by disrupting rail travel, shutting down The Louvre, and causing Biarritz Airport to be evacuated.
