Police Close Zhoushan Expressway as Typhoon Chanthu Brings Strong Winds

Powerful gusts from Typhoon Chanthu prompted the closure of the expressway connecting China’s Zhoushan archipelago with the mainland on Monday, September 13.

Zhoushan Highway Traffic Police posted this footage showing the severe weather conditions that led to the full closure of the G9211 expressway connecting the region to Ningbo.

The National Astronomical Observatory of China maintained an orange alert for the weather system on Monday, according to local news.
