Police in riot gear were seen entering New York’s Washington Square Park on Saturday, June 5, after a crowd remained in the park beyond a newly-imposed 10pm curfew.

The weekend curfew was imposed by police and the city’s parks department amid safety concerns in the area, according to local reports. The park now closes at the earlier time of 10pm, rather than at midnight.
