Police Vehicle Smashes Through Fence During Rescue of Car That Drove Off Bridge in Atlanta

A police officer in Atlanta, Georgia, smashed his vehicle through a fence while trying to access a car and its driver that had driven off a bridge on October 21, police said.

The officer “was flagged down by a witness who advised the vehicle had driven off the bridge and landed approximately 50 feet below.” His access to the vehicle was blocked by a locked gate, so he requested permission from his supervisor to break through it.
