Satellite Imagery Shows Storm Elias Bearing Down on Balkans

Satellite imagery released by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) shows Storm Elias swirling over the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday, September 26, near the Balkans.

The storm is causing flooding in Greece and is “bringing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to the Balkan countries in Europe,” CIRA said on Tuesday.

Emergency officials in Greece warned of severe storms and hail on Tuesday, as officials reported flooding in central Greece.
