Several Killed at Sudan Anti-Coup Demonstrations, Doctors Say

Anti-coup protesters took to the streets of Omdurman, Sudan, on Thursday, June 30, as demonstrations in the country left eight shot dead, according to a medical group that has been tracking casualties since the protests began in October 2021.

This footage uploaded to Twitter shows demonstrators marching through the streets of Omdurman and waving flags to protest the coup.

The current wave of protests began on October 25, 2021, when the Sudanese military took control of the government in a coup. According to the doctor’s group that tracks casualties, 111 people have lost their lives at protests since the coup. Credit: Sudan Bukra via Storyful
