The Sonoma Community Animal Response Team (Sonoma CART) came to the aid of a horse on September 28 during the Glass Fire in Santa Rosa, California.

Footage from the Animal Response Team shows a horse being led by a member of the organization, as an active fire blazes behind them and pieces of ash whip by the camera.

Sonoma CART wrote to Storyful: “Our certified, volunteer team was dispatched to save several horses and goats during the Shady Fire in Santa Rosa on a property with burning structures.”

“Because of their long-term experience working with large animal rescue, they were able to safely walk the horses out to their trailer to evacuate them to safety,” CART said.

According to the Santa Rosa Fire Department, the Shady Fire merged with the Glass Fire on September 28.

Cal Fire reported the Glass Fire is at 42,560 acres and is 0 percent contained as of the afternoon of September 29. Credit: Sonoma CART via Storyful
