Thanksgiving Food Drive in Miami a Success, Despite Theft of Charity Fridge

3 年前

Volunteers in Miami, Florida, handed out Thanksgiving turkeys and food parcels to those less fortunate on November 25, despite having their charity refrigerator stolen the night before, local media reported.

A community fridge, dubbed the ’"Village (Freed)ge", was placed outside the Roots Collective Black House in Miami several months ago, and was kept stocked with food by Sherina Jones and her fellow volunteers.

It was stolen the night before the collective’s Thanksgiving food drive. But that didn’t stop the giving, with one organizer posting afterwards: “WE DID IT! Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Was A Success!” Credit: @theechosen_1 via Storyful
