The Fawn Fire burning in Shasta County, California, had exploded to 5,850 acres by September 24, two days after the blaze first ignited, fire officials said.

This footage by Heather Bergen shows thick smoke swirling around an orange haze, as seen from across Interstate 5 in Mountain Gate.

Authorities said at least 25 structures have been destroyed by the fire, and evacuation orders were in place in multiple areas.
