Timelapse Captures Spread of California's Dixie Fire as New Evacuations Ordered

New evacuation orders were issued in Northern California’s Plumas County as the Dixie fire reached 253,052 acres (about 395 square miles), according to the latest incident report.

The fire, which started on July 13, was 35 percent contained, officials said,

Timelapse video, shared by Alameda County Fire on August 3, shows plumes of smoke moving across the landscape as firefighters continue to battle the fire.

Plumas County Sheriff’s Office expanded their mandatory evacuations to include the town of Greenville on August 2, as well as an additional evacuation order from Highway 89 and 36 to the county line.
