A number of tree branches lay strewn across the road in downtown Oklahoma City, as thousands were left without power following an ice storm on October 27.

KOCO reported that more than 255,000 customers did not have power as of the morning of October 27, with electric company OG&E blaming ice accumulation on trees as the primary cause of damage to power lines and subsequent outages.

The city’s most famous tree, the Survivor Tree at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, also suffered damage and had a large limb fall, KOCO said. Credit: Bob Johnson via Storyful
