A parma wallaby named Adams celebrated his 12th birthday at a zoo in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 11, with extra scratches from caretakers, footage shows.

Parma wallabies were once thought to be extinct until a wild population was discovered near Gosford, New South Wales, in the 1970s, according to the Cincinnati Zoo. “The solitary and shy nature of this species is likely to be the reason behind its assumed extinction,” they said.
