Wind-Driven California Brush Fire Prompts Evacuations

A wind-driven brush fire was threatening homes in Laguna Beach, California, early on the morning of Thursday, February 10, with the city issuing evacuation orders for two areas.

The Los Angeles Times said the blaze ignited between Laguna Beach and Emerald Bay. Firefighters in the air and on the ground were working to protect homes, the Times said.

The city of Laguna Beach issued evacuation orders for Irvine Cove and Emerald Bay, and an evacuation warning for North Laguna.
