The group Students for a Free Tibet unfurled a “Free Tibet” banner from a bridge in Paris on May 5 as the motorcade of China’s President Xi Jinping’s drove past.

Xi began his European visit on Sunday, starting in France. He was also due to visit Serbia and Hungary. Le Figaro reported that around 2,000 people, mostly Tibetans, assembled at Place de la Republique in protest. Credit: Students for a Free Tibet via Storyful
