Hurricane Ian neared Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, on Monday, September 26, as authorities issued a hurricane warning in the region.

The Cayman Islands Government warned of rough seas and storm surges and issued a flood and marine warning in the area.

The storm became a hurricane on September 26, as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecasted that it would strengthen rapidly throughout the day and impact western Cuba.
