Game of Thrones movie adaptation in early stages of development at Warner Bros. More than 5 years after the show's conclusion, fans are finally getting an idea for what's in store for the Game of Thrones universe. Despite being kept largely underwraps, Warner Bros. has been reported to be in the early stages of developing a film based on the George R.R. Martin helmed franchise. No official names have been attached to the project at this time, however the news comes after years of debate between showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss and HBO executives about how the 8 season series should conclude, with Benioff and Weiss largely in favor of a film.
