Boat with 185 Rohingya refugees lands in Indonesia

STORY: Video posted on social media on Sunday showed refugees coming ashore from the boat anchored in sea.

Some local residents who live in the nearby area of Lamnga in Aceh Besar regency were seen helping the refugees on the shore.

Over half of those who arrived around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday were women and children, Ridwan Jamil, head of Aceh Besar disaster agency, told Reuters.

Hundreds of Rohingya have reached Aceh in the past few months, including a boat that washed ashore carrying 174 in late December.
