While a horse named Chemakoh remains the original mascot of the Selah House Respite Center and Care Farm in Sedona, Ariz., he’s since been joined by a steadily growing army of beings, from abandoned dogs and formerly slaughter-bound sheep to other abused horses and a sensitive pig named Wilbur, who was left alone in an empty house for one month before he was found, and now has an insatiable appetite for oatmeal with brown sugar.
