Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has delivered on her promise to swim in the River Seine, in an effort to alleviate concerns around the river’s suitability for swimming events during the Paris Olympics, despite a 1.4 billion Euro (1.5 billion USD) clean-up plan ahead of the Games. The Opening Ceremony will take place on the river on July 26, if currents are not too strong.
