Dutch speed skater breaks world record

STORY: Nuis, who set the world record four years ago with a speed of 57.8 miles per hour, reached 64 mph along a 1.9 mile-long natural ice rink on Norway's Savalen Lake, while skating behind a wind shield.

"I literally flew over the ice. When there was a little bump, I just flew, and was a crazy feeling. I gave it all," he said.

Nuis successfully defended his 1,500m speed skating gold at the Beijing Olympics in February, adding to his 1,500m and 1,000m titles from Pyeongchang in 2018.
