India hosts vibrant International Kite Festival

STORY: The sky above Ahmedabad saw several shapes and colours as participants pulled giant, quirky kites.

"This festival is one of the biggest in the world and I am meeting my friends from many countries and I get to share my kite and my art with many people," Keith Mould, a participant of the festival.

Tourists were seen enjoying the view as 125 kite flyers from 68 countries took part in the week-long festival with the Group of 20 (G20) summit as its theme.

In Gujarat, the kite festival is organised ahead of 'Makar Sankranti'. It is known as 'Uttarayan' in the state and is celebrated by flying kites with great zeal and joy.
