Laiza sits close to the Chinese border and is home to many civilians living in displacement camps in and around the town. The U.N. says more than a million people have been displaced by the conflict in Myanmar.

Reuters has verified location of the videos to be Laiza by matching landscape, road layouts and vegetation as seen on file images. Video shared with and verified by Reuters showed residents in Laiza preparing to bury dozens of victims in coffins laid out next to rows of freshly dug graves.
