Wildlife officials in central Minnesota were excited to find a group of newborn raccoons in a hollow tree in late April, footage shows.

Footage posted to X by the US Fish and Wildlife Service shows the pile of kits, which they said was filmed at the Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge in Lincoln County on April 24.

“We elevated a camera to take a look inside this tree cavity only to find a cuddle puddle of five baby raccoons!” they wrote on the post.

Raccoons “are born blind and deaf. After about three weeks their eyes and ear canals will open,” they added. Credit: USFWS via Storyful
