Cats are still dying in significant numbers from a mystery illness believed to be linked to recalled cat food according to the Royal Veterinary College.  At least 528 cats have been diagnosed with feline pancytopenia an illness that causes red and white bloods cells to rapidly decrease which can be fatal. Of those felines diagnosed and treated at hospitals, there is a 63.5% mortality rate.Sainsbury’s and Pets at Home are among several retailers who have pulled dry cat food from their shelves over potential links to the disease. The government is working with the RVC, Animal Plant and Health Agency to investigate possible link.  .
