Homeowner Backs Away After Meeting Bear Taking a Stroll Down the Street

A large black bear was spotted taking a stroll down a street in Asheville, North Carolina, recently, attracting attention from homeowners and local dogs.

Photographer David Oppenheimer, who filmed this video, told Storyful this was one of the “largest and oldest” bears in his neighborhood.

“The bear was apparently heading to a tree up the hill to eat fresh acorns that had recently fallen … At one point, the big bear stopped in the road as if it wanted me to move further back from its path,” said Oppenheimer. Credit: David Oppenheimer via Storyful
