Whiteout conditions were seen in central Illinois on Wednesday, February 2, as Illinois Governor JB Pritzker declared a disaster and activated 100 National Guard personnel to help deal with the severe winter weather.

This footage of Bloomington, Illinois, was filmed and posted by Twitter user @Wx_Geek, who commented, “This is bringing Blizzard of 2011 vibes in terms of the snow intensity.”

In the footage, he says, “Just letting you guys know, this is the heaviest snow I’ve seen since 2011, no question about it” – referencing a powerful winter storm that battered parts of Illinois and Indiana in 2011.

According to local media, this storm could potentially dump more than a foot of snow in some areas.
