Mumbai, May 22, (ANI): Dr Tatyarao Lahane Director of Directorate of Medical Research and Education on May 22 said that it’s inaccurate to blame COVID treatment for increase in Mucormycosis cases. It’s because of the new COVID mutant that is affecting the beta cells in pancreas, resulting in increase in blood sugar level. “We have to take all the precautions for the 3rd wave”, he said. “A special team of doctors have been assigned for the treatment and surgery of Mucormycosis patients”, said Dr Lahane.
