Australia asks Google to block images of Uluru walk

Parks Australia has asked the tech giant

to remove images appearing to show people

walking on the summit of Uluru

The site was closed in 2019

after a decades-long campaign by indigenous communities

Formerly known as Ayers Rock

Uluru holds spiritual significance

for the indigenous Anangu people

A Google spokesman told local media

"As soon as Parks Australia raised their concerns about this user contribution, we removed the imagery."
